Be immersed in the beautiful world of Beatrix Potter. Your kids will learn about Beatrix, her life, illustrations, and her work with scientific illustration. We'll also discuss some things she had to overcome so that we could have the privilege of enjoying her art today.

Art Tour Details:
Lesson One:
- Beatrix Potter: her childhood and how the books got started.
- How the books were able to be published
- Discussion about her paintings, analyzing her art style
- Focusing on how she helped her characters stand out against the background
- Art Project: Create a scene with a background, foliage and characters using watercolor, their new ruling pen and provided watercolor papers and guides
Lesson Two:
- Beatrix Potter: she was more than an illustrator, she worked for years drawing and sketching real animals, insects, plants and mushrooms.
- Discussion and analyzing Beatrix's realistic style
- Appreciation for her work in mycology despite being blocked by the scientific community because she was a woman.
- Art Project: Students will start an accordion book nature journal by sketching and drawing found items in nature.
Lesson Three:
- Beatrix Potter: a review and focus on everything she accomplished despite the obstacles in front of her.
- Students will have time to keep working on the two projects
- Art Projects: Students will finish the scene by making a beautiful paper frame. And they will complete the accordion nature journal by making a front and back cover with provided fabric.
